Low Vit D in parkinsonismA majority of Parkinson's disease patients have low levels of vitamin D as well. the percent of patients with the lowest levels of vitamin D, who were deficient, was higher (23%) in the Parkinson’s group than the Alzheimer’s group (16%) or the healthy group (10%). It could play a role in causing the disease.
A deficit of vitamin D has long been associated with bone problems, while more recent research has connected it with certain cancers, diabetes, and autoimmune illnesses.
